Team Coaching

At Touchstone Coaching, I work with teams across Metro Vancouver to help them communicate more effectively, strengthen trust, and bring clarity to how they work together. Team coaching goes beyond one-off workshops — it’s an ongoing process that helps your group align around shared goals, create psychological safety, and navigate challenges with more confidence and ease.

Whether your team is newly formed, growing quickly, or navigating change, team coaching provides the structure and support to build stronger relationships and better results.

Helping Teams Build Clarity, Communication, and Trust.

  • What is Team Coaching

Team coaching is a facilitated process that helps a group reflect on how they work together — not just what they do. The goal isn’t to fix people, but to create the conditions where collaboration, clarity, and trust can thrive.

Through guided conversations, structured exercises, and tailored coaching sessions, teams explore how communication flows, how decisions get made, and where assumptions or unclear roles may be getting in the way.

The result is a more cohesive, focused, and effective team — one that communicates openly, supports one another, and stays aligned on what really matters.

This work is especially powerful when teams are:

    Experiencing communication breakdowns or tension

Navigating growth, new leadership, or organizational change

Seeking to strengthen collaboration across departments or functions

Wanting to improve workplace culture and overall team effectiveness

  • How it Works.

My team coaching process combines structure with flexibility, ensuring that each engagement is grounded in your team’s real context and goals. Here’s how it typically unfolds:

    Discovery Conversation
Every engagement begins with a conversation to understand your team’s needs, challenges, and priorities. We’ll talk about what’s working, what isn’t, and what outcomes you’d like to see.

    Team Survey
Before coaching begins, I use a confidential survey to gather honest insights from team members. This helps identify patterns in communication, clarity, and trust, providing a clear starting point for our work together.

    Meeting with the Leadership Team
I meet with your leadership or management group to review the survey themes, clarify focus areas, and align expectations. This step ensures we’re addressing the issues that matter most to your team.

    Facilitated Team Sessions
We then move into a series of coaching sessions, typically 3 to 6, designed to build awareness, strengthen communication, and create practical agreements about how the team will work together. Each session is customized to your team’s goals and dynamics.

    Follow-up Coaching
After the main sessions, we reconnect to reflect on progress, reinforce key agreements, and identify next steps to sustain positive change over time.

This approach blends coaching, facilitation, and practical tools, creating space for meaningful dialogue, learning, and accountability.

  • Benefits of Team Coaching.

When a team commits to coaching, the impact can be transformative. Common outcomes include:

Stronger communication: Teams learn how to listen, give feedback, and have honest conversations that move work forward.

Greater psychological safety: Team members feel more comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas, and addressing conflict constructively.

Clarity in roles and expectations: Everyone understands their responsibilities and how they contribute to shared goals.

Improved collaboration and trust: Relationships deepen as people align around shared purpose and mutual respect.

Healthier workplace culture: Coaching helps shift habits, not just mindsets, leading to sustainable improvements in team culture and engagement.

These benefits often extend beyond the team itself, influencing how departments collaborate and how leaders show up across the organization.

  • Surveys and Insights.

A key part of my approach is combining team coaching with team surveys. Surveys create a safe and structured way for every voice to be heard — especially those who may hesitate to speak up in group settings.

The insights from these surveys highlight what’s really happening inside the team: communication gaps, trust issues, or uncertainty about roles and expectations. They provide a data-informed foundation for coaching conversations and make progress measurable over time.

When paired with team coaching, surveys help transform insight into action. The combination fosters accountability, clarity, and shared ownership of change — rather than relying on assumptions or top-down directives.

  • Why Touchstone Coaching.

I bring a balance of experience, structure, curiosity, and care to every engagement. My background in leadership and organizational coaching helps me guide conversations that are both practical and human, focused on real work and real relationships.

Teams often tell me they appreciate the approachable, down-to-earth way I facilitate dialogue and the trust I help create in the room.

Many organizations also find that combining team coaching with leadership coaching helps sustain growth over time — ensuring that the learning continues beyond the team sessions.
